Hi lovelies, my name is Mary-Lou Portillo (aka MLP) and in this channel I will show you tips, tricks and tutorials for creating epoxy resin tumblers. As the creator, designer, and owner of Lovely Lou Lou Designs, I have been making tumblers since 2017. Having learned from online tutorials and my own experiences (trial and plenty of error!), I am excited to be giving back to this wonderful community and sharing with you what I have learned along the way.

I just love this ornament. Going to try and make it for myself.
What was the cup rotating thing?
Grandioso video. Excelente forma de hacer este adorno navideño. Está clarísimo el video. Muchas gracias felicidades .
Gorgeous ornament! But alas, I won’t be making it. You completely lost me on the computer stuff! Too complicated. 😢
Sorry to hear that. I tried to break it down as simply as I could.
@@LovelyLouLouDesigns I might try Christmas card cut-outs instead. The only tricky part will be making a template for the right size to fit inside the bauble. 👍❣️🌹
I have a template for the 4 inch disc shaped (M&M shaped) ornament linked in the video. It is what I was using in the tutorial 🖤
What did you use for the sand?
Sand mixed with a small amount of glitter
I love your videos!! So much detail
Hi where did u get the mold for Making topper please
I got it from a supplier who no longer sells them. I have a longer tutorial for this process and have linked a few options on Amazon
@@LovelyLouLouDesigns thank u very much ma'am!!
You're so welcome ☺️
Where did you get the vinyl?
Is fabric. But I believe Burntwood Solutions has it as a vinyl
How do you clean your brushes that you use tack it with?
I just use dawn dish soap and water
so I had ordered the same molds. I have 20 0z straight skinny tumblers and the resign does not just fit in. it needs to be pushed in. I even popped out the slider for the mouth piece. and if I get the magnets in the front down pops up in back. any tips?
It sounds like the mold is too big for the lid. If it's off by only a small amount, maybe try sanding the edge down a bit. Depending on how deep your lid is, maybe try thicker magnets
This is the first time I've watched one of your videos. You explain everything in such detail. This is so great I'm going to watch all of your videos now and subscribe. Keep up the good work!
What are you sealing it with?
CCDIY epoxy resin
Good hacks and info!❤
Great job! Great info!❤
Thank you🖤
Where can we get a clamp/vice like that? I didn't see it listed
Sorry about that, here's the link amzn.to/48CQeuL
You are a GREAT teacher! I have dyslexia and have found it hard to learn how to use my Cricut. You make your instruction very clear for me to follow, Thank you. Also BEAUTIFUL tumbler!
Thank you so much. This means this to me. I am so glad the instructions were clear and easy to follow. My youngest son has dyslexia and I have been working closely with him to catch him up so your comment means so much.
@@LovelyLouLouDesigns I’am 55, we knew when I was in second grade that I had it but nobody really knew what to do about it. I met a very much retired special ed reading teacher about ten years ago. She was running an antique store. Needless to say we spent hours talking instead of me shopping. She taught me so much about myself that afternoon that it changed my life. I don’t know about your son but I learn by watching. Written instruction just confuses me, I can’t comprehend it. Your son will benefit so much from you being involved. I know I will keep watching your videos and most likely referencing them. I also want to say if he has a hard time early on, have patience. I hated school early on because I couldn’t comprehend, but by middle school I started figuring it out. I loved it at that point. He will do better than I did just because they know better how to handle it. Plus he has you! Thank you again for what you are doing, and I hope the best for you and your family journeys
Gorgeous!
Thank you so much!
A very 'classy' bauble, I like it very much,
Thank you! ⛄
Absolutely love your instructions. Thank you!! Love the ornament.
You're so welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching and commenting! ⛄
Your work is stunning. Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much! 🖤
Hi ! Watching you Dec. 8, 2023. Would love to make some! I do not have an electronic cutter, and don’t plan to get one. Do you sell the template for those of us who would be cutting it out by hand? Thanks for showing your lovely ornament! It’s fantastic!
Hi, thanks for watching! I actually made a video showing how to make the insert without a cutting machine.
Oh wonderful! I just got lucky when I stumbled across this video. What shall I look for, to find the video showing it cut by hand? Thank you so much for your prompt answer
ruclips.net/video/hrejlcvH_eE/видео.html here's the link. I hope that works :)
Love this ornament!! I want to make one for my daughter. I need to use two different shades of glitter. Can that be done? I haven't found a good video yet. Help!!
I think it would be possible though difficult. I would start with the bottom glitter colour and pour it inside on the side without the sealer, then move it around the bottom half only and dump the excess from the side that doesn't have the sealer again. Then you can add your secondary colour. It would probably be easier to do the double glitter colour on the outside and seal it with an epoxy but if you aren't set up for that, it would be a pain. I now want to try this lol
@@LovelyLouLouDesigns Thank you for responding!! I'll let you know how things go. Wish me luck!!
Actually, I am set up to do epoxy!! I make tumblers all the time. I just dont have a way to spin the ornaments like my tumblers. That's why I haven't tried these with epoxy. I didn't know if I could do that. Thanks again!! ❤
Where did you buy the feathers?
I purchased them from Amazon. I linked them in the description section 🙂
What do you print your design on
The link for all materials is in the description 🙂
Hey i recently started making cups and my cups always come out uneven . Any tips?
Usually uneven cups have to do with them not being level. I have a tutorial about how to check if your tumbler is level. Another thing that can cause that is using too much epoxy. Epoxy can be a bit of a balance: you don't want so much that it is completely flooding the tumbler and dripping, and you don't want too little that you are spreading the epoxy too thin and stretching it to cover the surface.
Thank you so much I tried leveling and the cups I made last night seem to look a lot better! @@LovelyLouLouDesigns
@@migdalizmolina7288 fantastic! I'm so glad it helped!!!!
I love your informative videos and the manner in which you explain everything ! New Subscriber ! I also that you're a Canadian RUclipsr ! Love &Blessings from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia xo
Thank you so much for your kind words and for subscribing. I haven't been able to upload much recently but I have some ideas and I really want to start tutorials again. Comments like this motivate me to do it. Thank you ❤️
I'm confused by your comment about printing on polyester acetate. Number one I followed your link and it doesn't say polyester anywhere. #2. I found this video searching for instructions for sublimating on polyester film. I guess this is not it. Your just printing regular ink onto acetate that does not need to be polyester, correct?
Correct, this is not a sublimation tutorial. I am using a laser printer with a plastic transparency film for laser printers. Inkjet transparency film would be use for an inkjet printer.
I had already answered my own question. Every time Polyester in a craft video my brain says Sublimation. lol@@LovelyLouLouDesigns
Lol totally fair. My brain makes those kinds of connections too
So cute! My great-granddaughter would love this.
Thank you so much! ❤️
This is awesome…. I was getting bored with my plain floating ornaments…..your ornaments are beautiful…. Thank you for the great tutorial….
You're so welcome. In glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for watching and your comment 🥰🖤
I really liked them with the white demask vinyl as the design before you spray painted them!! Love the peekaboo also
I love it like that too 🥰
Wow! You did a beautiful job… very impressive…
Thank you so much! And thank you for watching. ❤️
Very beautiful ! Thank you for the tutorial video ! 🩷
You're so welcome! Thank you for watching.
Oh my gosh I almost died when you snapped that piece in without putting in that last magnet 😢
😂🤣
Stunning! Thanks so much for your process!
You're welcome. Thank you so much for watching 🖤
Have you done a 40oz - Stanley Dupe lid? If so, would you do it the same fashion?
I have not. I looked the lid up and if it's the same one I saw then it doesn't look like it would work because of all of the moving parts
Yes🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤ this is pure talent. Yes ppl maybe surprised how Much the rhinestone tumbler cost to make so id keep it as well.
Thank you so much❤️
Absolutely gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing with us-
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
how long do you let the resin sit under the light?
That depends on your light and the resin. I usually do 30-60 seconds to set it up. Final cure is about 2 minutes. But I will also put it in the window in the sun for a few minutes to make sure nothing is left tacky when it's done
Thank you so much@@LovelyLouLouDesigns
Absolutely stunning ❤
Thank you ❤️
Can you share the site where you got the UV resin??
I use Counter Culture DIY. In the US you can get it direct from them. I use the Canadian Supplier Em & Kat Glitter Factory
Love, love, love, your tutorial. You are so thorough with the instructions and go at a speed that I love. I'm going to try this on a memorial floating ornament of my brother and sister-in-law. I think the glitter in the back will help out. Thanks for your expertise.
Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment. I have used the glitter back for many memorial ornaments and it definitely has a beautiful outcome. ❤️
Thank you for sharing Love this image ❤
Thank you so much! I will be making another ornament tutorial soon. ❤️
Hi Lou Lou. I have 2 laser printers. One really old HP and the 2nd one is a Canon Image class Laser printer. However I was told that my Canon likely cannot accept the transparency film as it gets so hot and would melt the film..however you are mentioned you use a different setting because of that? Can you explain? Also I have a Cricut, can you explain an easier way to do this design/ While you were as succinct as possible, there were so many steps and prompts to choose. It sounds easy for a true professional and someone who is much more Computer literate than I am. thanks so much!!
I just purchased a Canon Image Class but haven't used it for transparency film yet. I was told the Brother printers run hotter (which is what I have). I will try my settings and see how it prints
@@LovelyLouLouDesigns excellent thanks. I have the mf644cdw. Much appreciated!!
Hi Lou. Thanks for your great video and your lovely work! I am confused about the print and cut and then the acetate. Are you actually printing the design onto the acetate? If so can you explain this, and then are you only using the Cricut to cut the shape of the ornament for the acetate? I have never tried any print and cut projects. Please clarify for me. thanks so much!
Hi! Yes. I print directly onto the acetate. I prefer to mirror my image and print it upside down since I think it makes the text look better. I use a high quality print setting and a glossy paper for the paper type. The Cricut will read the registration marks and cut the design perfectly. I have another tutorial on here, the ornament with the ice castle. I go into a lot of detail about the print and cut feature there. 🥰
@LovelyLouLouDesigns Hi. Can u post what paper you are using please 🙏 There is no vinyl in this design? Thanks so much! You are so talented 💖
@@Dee-nl2jk the link to the transparency film is in the video description. Make sure you are using the right type of film for your printer (laser or inkjet). And you're correct, no vinyl was used for this design 🙂
How do we order one from you?
I don't sell just the lids/lid toppers since I don't carry extra lid inventory. But if you are interested in a tumbler you can fill out the tumbler request form on my website www.lovelylouloudesigns.com
Another masterpiece!!😍 Absolutely beautiful
